No one likes walking around holding onto a bunch of things—bring new meaning to having your hands full. I made these trinket holders by sketching out my hand onto a sheet of chip board, scaling it down, cut it out, and then scaled it down again and cut that outline out.
I rolled out a sheet of polymer clay, laid down my hand outline, cut it out, and then baked it in the oven! Afterward, I sealed it with polyurethane, painted it with acrylic paint, and did the designs with acrylic paint worked out of a henna cone. Then, I sealed it with two coats of polyurethane again, just for good measure.
Polymer clay has a pliable quality to it, making it less likely to break than air dry or ceramic clays. However, as a handmade item, it’s best to not be too rough with it.
This one is painted white with black painted designs. I made these designs myself, freehand, and did not copy from any other source. Overall, this one measures to approximately 3” x 5”.
This little dish can perfectly hold loose change, rings, earrings, or any other wee things you’d like to keep in one spot. Stop searching for the little things and put it in your hand!
